About This Course

Mental Health Concepts emphasizes the psychosocial adaptation to dysfunctional health patterns that include, but are not limited to, alterations in self-perception- self-concept, role-relationship, coping-stress tolerance, value belief, and cognitive perceptual health patterns. This introductory course in mental health focuses on behavioral manifestations of functional health patterns as well as stress at various stages of personality development throughout the lifespan. The learner will develop the ability to identify the psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual forces that influence client and family behaviors.. The course includes theory and clinical training.
